Susan Maxwell
Susan A. Maxwell is a self-taught multimedia artist and wire sculptor living and working from Closeburn, near Thornhill. After retiring from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, she discovered a passion for painting and began developing her artistic practice.
Inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and farm animals around her, Susan creates vibrant paintings in watercolour, acrylic and oil, alongside imaginative sculptures crafted from garden wire.
Alongside her painting and sculpture, Susan enjoys incorporating recycled and locally sourced materials into selected projects.
Based in her small studio in Closeburn, she exhibits throughout the local area and welcomes commissions.
